Eminent academic and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr. M. Farashuddin was awarded Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Gold Medal 2014, on Saturday.Justice M Mozammel Hossain adorned him with the medal at a function at the Ahsanullah University for Science and Technology at Tejgaon in the city. Receiving the award, Dr Farashuddin urged all to unite and work from their respective positions to build a prosperous, democratic ‘Sonar Bangla’ (golden Bangladesh).
All would have to march forward together sinking differences for the advancement of the country, he said adding, “We all would be benefitted, if the country becomes prosperous.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Justice Mozammel Hossain said Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah worked for the welfare of mankind throughout his life.
Presided over by Dhaka Ahsania Mission President Kazi Rafiqul Alam, the function was also addressed by former Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Dr. M Abdul Mazid, Vice-chancellor of Jagannath University Prof Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Treasurer of Ahsanullah University for Science and Technology Dr. Kazi Shariful Alam, Prof Dr Saifuddin Chowdhury and Kazi Ali Reza.
