At the end of last year, RTV started to telecast a health related drama serial titled Swasthya Mama under the planning and direction by National Film Award winner actor Dr Ezazul Islam. It is being aired on that channel every Saturday at 5:40pm.
According to Dr Ezaz, who is also acting in lead role in the serial, it is not only a drama serial but also some health tips are to be given to the viewers after ending its each episode. Faruk Ahmed, Shamima Naznin, Hosne Ara Putul and Shatadal Barua Bilu are also acting in other roles in the serial.
While talking about the serial Dr Ezaz said, “Main aim of the serial is to entertain the viewers and also to give them health related messages. I am grateful to RTV they now want to increase its episodes. Also grateful to actors of the serial they are co-operating me well.”
Faruk Ahmed said, “I enjoy working under my friend Ezaz’s direction. I always eager to work in awareness creating work. Once I did my job in BRAC. So, I prefer to involve myself with social awareness creating activities.”
Hosne Ara Putul, once got National Film Award for acting, is now detahched from acting. But she is acting in Ezaz’s serial cordially. Putul’s residence is in Gazipur so she can easily take part in shooting in Pubail. For this reason, she gives schedule to work in Swasthya Mama.
Putul said, “Ezaz Bhai is one of my favourite actors. Under Humayun Sir’s direction we worked together for many times. Under his direction I am cordially working in Swasthya Mama serial. In fact, we are working like a family in the serial.”
Besides acting, Dr Ezaz is also working as Head of Nuclear Medicine Department at Dhaka Medical College now. He gives time to patients from 5:00pm to 11:00pm at Gazipur Chowrasta for last 25 years.
