Dr Emdad of MMCH airlifted to Dhaka

A physician of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH), who has Covid-19 symptoms, was airlifted to Dhaka on Saturday afternoon following deterioration of his condition. Dr Mohammad Emdad Ullah Khan, assistant professor at the Medicine Department of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH), was sent to Dhaka by an air ambulance of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) around 4:50pm, Medicine Department’s Registrar Dr Mohiuddin Khan said.
He has been shifted to Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Hospital in the capital for advanced treatment.
Dr Emdad has been undergoing treatment at MMCH after noticing Covid-19 symptoms in him. However, he tested negative for Covid-19 on June 9 last.
But, Dr Emdad has been suffering from acute pneumonia, and ARDS disease, and his condition deteriorated, his sample was again sent to the lab of MMC on Saturday, Dr Mohiuddin said.
Dr Emdad hails from Purba Dhala upazila in Netrokona district. He passed MBBS from Sylhet Osmany Medical College and joined the 24th BCS (Health).
