Dr Amitav Sarker has joined as the Chairman of Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) today.
Prior to this appointment he was the Divisional Commissioner of Barishal Division.
He also worked as the Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary in the Local Govrnment Division of Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Ministry.
Amitav was also Deputy Commissioner of Patuakhali district.
He also worked as UNO of Harinakundu Upazila in Jhenidah district. Dr Amitav was born in an aristocratic family in Gheor Upazila in Manikganj district.
He obtained B.Sc.-AG degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University. Amitav also obtained PhD degree from the Public Administration Department of Jahangirnagar University.
