Middle order batsman Ariful Haque hit a scintillating ton steering Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited a one-wicket victory over Prime Bank Cricket Club in the 4th round super league of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Monday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.
Chasing a winning target of 245 runs set by Prime Bank Cricket Club, Mohammedan, rode on Ariful Haque’s 103-run knock, reached home for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs. Ariful cracked six boundaries and two over boundaries during his 99-ball stay on the crease.
Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim also supported Ariful with his superb 50 runs that contained five boundaries.
Taibur Rahman and Rubel Hosssain shared two wickets each giving away 29 and 55 runs respectively.
Earlier, Prime Bank Cricket Club scored a decent total of 244 for all in 48.4 overs, after they forced to bat first by Mohammedan.
Prime Bank’s middle order made the bulk of their runs, with Sabbir Rahman contributing with 77 from 66 that studded seven fours and three sixes. Unmukt Chand contributed 40 but rest of the Prime Bank batters failed to capitalize on their starts.
For Mohammedan Shahidul, Faisal, Enamul and Naeem himself bagged two wickets apiece to stall Prime Bank’s innings.
Ariful of Mohammedan was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance in the match.
Raqibul stars of Doleshwar’s victory

Raqibul Hasan continued his prolific form to hit a magnificent ton saw Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club to record a 91-run victory over Victoria Sporting Club in the 4th round super league of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Monday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Narayanganj.
Chasing a massive winning target of 334 runs set by Doleshawr, Victoria SC found the chase stiff and finally all out for 242 in 45.2 overs.
Despite a solid 99-run opening stand by Jubair Ahmed (56) and Abdul Majid(50) and another second wicket 50 runs partnership between Jubair and Mominul (61), the remaining Victorians batsmen could not capitalize the advantage of their flying start losing wickets in regular intervals.
Sanjamul Islam was the pick of Doleshwar bowler as he grabbed three wickets conceding 44 runs while Al-Amin Hossain and Rahatul Ferdous picked up two wickets each for 37 and 47 runs respectively.
Earlier, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club rode on Raqibul Hasan’s century and Nasir Hossain’s quick-fire cameo to amassed a massive total of 333 for 5 from their stipulated 50 overs, after Prime Doleshawr skipper Farhad Reza decied to bat first.
Raqibul scored a breezy 100 from 96 balls, Sachin Baby added 64 while Nasir was unbeaten with 74 in only 42 balls. The 3rd wicket stand of 124 in 22.3 overs, followed by 59 in seven overs took the game away from Victoria.
Only three bowlers managed to get their names on the wickets-column today for Victoria while Kamrul Islam Rabbi bagged two wickets.

Mosaddek sets up victory for Abahani

An allround performance by Mosaddek Hossain helped Abahani Limited to post a 60-run victory over Legends of Rupganj in the 4th round super league of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Monday at BKSP ground in Savar.
Chasing a challenging target of 291 runs set by Abahani Limited, Rupganj foundthe chase stiff and finally dismissed at 230 in 44.4 over, despite a fighting knock by Asif Ahmed (70) and Mohammad Mithun (55).
Mosaddek Hossain caused the major damage as he grabbed five Rupganj wickets conceding 43 runs. He was well supported by Taskin Ahmed and Shakib Al Hasan, who both shared two wickets each giving away 31 and 50 runs respectively.
Earlier, forced to bat first by Ruganj Abahani Limited courtesy of a blistering 5th wicket partnership of 140 runs in 16.3 overs between Shakib Al Hasan and Mosaddek Hossain reached 290 for 8 in from their allotted 50 overs.
After Liton’s 51, Shakib and Mosaddek played an entertaining knocks with some blazing shots all around the park. The ae allrounder Shakib contributed 66 from 57 with six fours and two sixes to his name.
Mosaddek cracked 73 from only 55, and his whirlwind knock studded eight fours and two towering sixes.
Rupganj skipper used seven bowlers today, and only Alauddin Babu, Taijul Islam and Asif Ahmed were successful in getting breakthroughs. Taijul bagged three for 45.
