Downpour with intervals since Thursday night paralysed normal life in Barisal city and surrounding areas often causing disruption of power and water supply and telecommunication.
Pronab Kumar Roy, Senior Observer at Barisal office of meteorological department, said weather in the city and surrounding areas remained rainy with breaks, cloudy with sultriness and 83.2 millimeter rainfall recorded till 3:00 PM Saturday in last 24-hour. Most of the low-lying areas of Barisal city went under water due to heavy rain fall from Thursday night to Saturday noon.
