Wall Street suffered another pummeling on Thursday following a downbeat outlook from Apple on China sales and surprisingly weak US manufacturing data.
At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 22,686.42, down more than 650 points or 2.8 percent.
The broad-based S&P 500 slid 2.5 percent to 2,447.95, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index sank 3.1 percent to 6,457.13.
Apple plunged 10 percent to $142.19 in its worst session since 2013, losing almost $75 billion in market value.
