Railway Minister Muzibul Haque said, the railway lines in southern parts will be developed in double line in near future to ensure better services of the passengers and reduce their sufferings on Khulna-Darshana lines.
Massive improvement of the railway services and systems were ensured when the Sheikh Hasina government came to power and formed separate ministry for the railway.
Muzibul Haque was addressing a gathering at Safderpur of Kotchandpur upazuila in Jhenaidah on Tuesday during inauguration of a newly constructed platform and high-level platform there. Huge people have been benefited from the railway services as it is the most easiest and comfortable way and means of communication throughout the world.
The minister said, Taka 500 crore was allocated for the railway sector during the past government of Bangladesh nationalist party, while the ruling Awami League had increased the figure to 11 thousand crore.
Presided over by railway ministry secretary Firoz Salauddin, Jhenaidah-3 constituency law maker Nabi Newaz, Jhenaidah-4 constituency lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar, director general of the Bangladesh Raialway Amjad Hossain, general manager of the western raialway Khairul Alam, deputy commissioner of Jhenaidah Mahbub Alam Talukder and additional superintendent of police Rezaul Karim remain present.
Further, a number of officials of the railway and other government officials, political leaders and huge people remain present on the occasion.
