The manager and a college student were killed inside a filling station while an unidentified robbery suspect was ‘lynched’ at a place on Jessore- Magura Road. Both the incidents took place at dead of night, police and locals said.
The two who were stabbed to death inside the filling station were identified as Obaidur Rahman, 30, manager of Abdul Bari Filling Station at Charabhita under Bagharpara Upazila and son of Abdur Rahman of Dashpukuria and Lizon Ahmed Apu, 24, student of masters at Jessore MM College and son of Sadar Uddin Khan of Panchbaria under Bagharpara upazila.
Sairuddin Ahmed, Officer in-charge, Bagharpara police station told that the two were killed following feud over previous rivalry. ‘The miscreants did not kill the two for robbery purposes’, he added.
Golam Rasul Biswas, maternal uncle of Obaidur told that he and other members of the family of the dead came to know the information in the morning.
He also said Apu came to the filling station only to sleep there as his residence was being constructed.
Police and locals told that Sirajul Islam, an employee of the filling station went on hiding soon after the incident. The police were inquiring into his involvement in the killing.
Masud Ahmed, owner of the filling station told that the miscreants did not take any money from the station.
Biplob Hossain, Sub-Inspector, Kotwali police station told that passengers of public transports beaten to death an unidentified robber, 30, while a gang of robbers were committing robbery at Panchbaria under Kotwali police station at around 2am.
The robbery suspect died at Jessore Medical College Hospital at around 4am after he was rushed there by the police being informed by the locals.
Post-mortem of the dead were made at Jessore Medical College Hospital on Monday.
