The Taxes Zone of Rangpur will launch a door-to-door external and internal survey for identifying 50,000 new taxpayers in all 22 circles of seven districts under it’s jurisdictions during the current 2019-2020 FY.
“Earlier, we conducted only internal survey targeting to identify 25,000 new taxpayers during the 2018-2019 FY when we exceeded the target by issuing e-TIN for 28,149 new taxpayers,” Tax Commissioner for Taxes Zone-Rangpur Md. Abdul Latif said.
Latif disclosed the information while talking to BSS today in the sideline of the week-long Income Tax Fairs-2019 being held at the Zila Parishad Community Centre here.
After appointing 48 new employees recently, the number of officers and employees increased up to 124 now in all 22 circles under the Taxes Zone-Rangpur against 203 allocated posts.
“Following increase in number of manpower, we have planned to train university students for sending them in teams door-to-door to conduct surveys to identify 50,000 new taxpayers under the leadership of our employees during the current FY,” Latif said.
“We have fixed a target of collecting Taka 851 crore income taxes during the 2019-2120 FY by increasing number of taxpayers and conducting door-to-door survey against Taka 630 crore collected as income taxes during the last 2018-2019 FY in the zone,” he added.
At the same time, Latif called upon all eligible citizens to register their e-TIN numbers at the 22 circles of the zone to spontaneously become taxpayers and pay their income taxes for further strengthening of the national economy.
Latif assured all eligible citizens of getting all necessary assistance to easily register their e-TIN numbers in completely hassle-free manner at any circle under the jurisdiction of Taxes Zone-Rangpur.
Answering to a question, Latif expressed satisfaction over huge rush of taxpayers at all 12 income tax fairs being held at the divisional city, six district and five upazila level headquarters under the Taxes Zone-Rangpur for the sixth consecutive day today.
