The office of Dhaka’s civil surgeon has asked doctors working at hospitals in the districts not to share information of coronavirus patient with the media.
The instruction came in a letter sent to the hospitals on Thursday by Civil Surgeon Abu Hussain Md Moinul Ahsan.
“Amid the pandemic situation, anyone other than the civil surgeon office, is being requested not to comment on or exchange any information about healthcare activities or the disease and patients with media,” it reads.
At the same time, the civil surgeon urged the media to refrain from photographing, videotaping or interviewing Covid-19 patients.
“These actions constitute a breach of patient privacy. Everyone is requested to contact the civil surgeon’s office if any information on the matter is required,” the letter added.
