Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chwodhury Nowfel said come directly to apprise the prevailing problems of the educational institutions sans formalities . He said there are number of problems in our educational institutions and we desire to resolve these problems quickly. Deputy Minister disclosed it while addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony on literacy and cultural competitions of Chattogram Govt Mohila College as Chief Guest.
Nowfel said I have been entrusted with the responsibilities of the education ministry just three months ago and in the meantime, I visited a number of schools and college in the port city and apprised with the barrel of problems there. He also asked the concerned govt officials to present these problems before the authorities in time so as to resolve immediately.
Principal of the college Prof. Swapan Chwodhury presided over the prize distribution ceremony and the Vice Principal Tahmina Akhter Noor delivered address of welcome in it.
ACC arrests upazila edu officer for bribery in Fatikchhari: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chattogram zone officials on Thursday arrested Azimul Kadar, upazila education officer of Fatikchhari upazila, for taking bribe from a primary school teacher.
Azimul was caught red-handed while taking bribe from Fatikchhari Government Primary School teacher Taslima Akhter, at his office around 3pm, said ACC Deputy Director Lutful Kabir.
Taslima filed a complaint with the ACC after Azimul took Tk 5,000 bribe from her, promising to facilitate a transfer.
Azimul then demanded Tk 10,000 more from her and Taslima notified the anti-graft officials about it.
The ACC officials conducted a drive at the office and arrested Azimul while taking the money from Taslima, said Lutful Kabir.
“We will hand him over to police after filing a case with Fatikchhari police station,” he added.
