Don’t fail deadline to retain plots in Jamdani Estate

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Thursday warned that plots allocated to entrepreneurs at Jamdani Industrial Estate and Research Centre will be cancelled if they fail to set up factories in the stipulated time.
Addressing the inaugural function of a seven-day Jamdani Fair at the National Museum, the minister also noted that the plots will be reallocated to new entrepreneurs after the deadline.
The Jamdani Industrial Estate and Research Centre was established on a 20-acre land at Noapara of Tarabo union parishad in Narayanganj in 1999. Out of 409 plots in the industrial village, 399 have already been allocated to Jamdani entrepreneurs.
The Jamdani Fair, organised by Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), will remain open for all from 9am to 4pm every day till July 23.
Various Jamdani sharees, including Jalpar, Pannahazar, Karola, Dublajal, Saburaga, Balihar, Shaplaful, Angurlata, Mayurpachpar, Baghnali, Kalmilata, Chandrapar and Jhumka, will be showcased in 37 stalls of the fair.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, Industries Secretary Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah and BCIC chairman Shyam Sundur Sikder also spoke at the inauguration.
