Staff Reporter: Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) on Sunday requested that not go there directly over suspecting coronavirus infection.
IEDCR Director Professor Dr. Meerjady Sabrina Flora urged all to make phone call first about consulting about the matter and then to decide further steps.
She requested it at a press briefing held at her Mohakhali office.
“If any one suspects that he is infected. Then he or she would inform us over phone first. We would instruct the next step. But please do not come to IEDCR directly,” the Director said.
The Director said that medical teams of her institute would visit suspected coronavirus patients’ homes and collect samples for test if needed.
Meanwhile, IEDCR informed that 10 people were being kept in isolation, four institutionally quarantined at different hospitals, and 2,314 people in home quarantine in the last 24 hours.
The IEDCR also tested 231 people in the last 24 hours.
Two more persons were diagnosed with COVID-19 in Bangladesh yesterday. Of the new patients — both males — one returned from Italy and the other from Germany around two weeks ago.
Besides, the authorities announced that the first three cases had recovered.
