A Dhaka Court yesterday fixed October 13 for the submission of investigation report in a case lodged against Bangladesh National Cricket Team’s pacer Al-Amin Hossain in connection with allegation of domestic violence.
As the Investigation Officer of the case could not submit the report on Wednesday, Metropolitan Magistrate Afnan Sumi of Dhaka CMM Court set the date afresh.
According to the case statement, Ishrat Jahan, wife of the national team pacer (pace-bowler), filed a complaint with Mirpur Model Police Statioon on August 1 alleging that Al-Amin tortured and physically abused her for dowry. She was also forcefully driven out of her house with her minor kids, and
Al Amin demanded Tk 20 lakh as dowry from his wife for paying the price of a flat, the victim alleged.
After primary investigation and verification police registered the complaint as a case of domestic violence the next day. On September 6, Al-Amin was granted an eight-week anticipatory bail by the High Court. The next day, the victim filed another case against the cricketer seeking maintenance of her children.
