The body of a male domestic aid was found in the flat of the State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder in the city’s Siddheshwary area on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Milon Thikadar, 20, son of Bijon Thikadar, from Magura district.
Police recovered the hanging body from the house following information in the morning.
Ramna Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moshiur Rahman said, “A man of the flat found Milon hanging with towel (a piece of cloths) with the ceiling fan in the dining room on the second floor of the minister’s flat around 5:00am and informed the police. A team of police went to Sikder’s flat and recovered the hanging body.”
Law enforcers primarily suspected that Milon might have committed suicide over love affair, the police official said.
“We are looking into the matter and the nature of the death will be clear from the postmortem report,” the OC said.
An unnatural death (UD) case was filed with the police station in this connection.
