Police recovered dead body of a housemaid from Brickfield area of Halishahar Thana in Chittagong on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Parvin Akter, 21, hailed from a slum near Halishahar. Halishahar Police sources said that Parvin was a domestic aid of Kamaluddin Haidar, 58, an American expatriate.
Recently some ornaments had gone missing from the house and Kamal’s wife allegedly beat her over the issue. Following the matter, Parvin committed suicide by hanging herself from the ventilator, claimed Kamal.
