A match-winning unbeaten 78-run knock by national discard Shahriar Nafees steered Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club to an overwhelming seven-wicket win over Prime Bank Cricket Club in the fifth round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Tuesday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Nafees hit five boundaries and one over boundary and first shared 123-run fourth wicket stand with Marshal Ayub (62) and then 40 runs unbeaten partnership with Jaker Ali (17) for the fifth wicket stand to take Doleshwar at home with 28 balls remaining.
Al-Amin Hossain of Prime Bank captured two wickets conceding 26 runs.
Earlier, opted to bat first, Prime Bank Cricket Club were all out for 180 in 49.5 overs in face of some tight bowling display by the Doleshwar bowlers. The highlights of Prime Bank’s innings were Zakir Hasan’s 52 runs and Asif Ahmed’s 33.
Delwar Hossain and Farhad Reza paved the way of Doleswar’s victory taking three wickets apiece for 17 and 30 runs respectively.
Delwar Hossain of Doleshawar was named the player of the match.
