Indira Gandhi Culture Centre (IGCC) is organising an evening of Rabindra Sangeet by Dola Bandopadhyay from Kolkata and recitation by Belayet Hossain of Bangladesh at 6.30 pm on July 25 at the IGCC, Gulshan-1, Dhaka.
Dola Bandopadhyay obtained Masters degree in Music from Rabindra Bharati University. She has got trained under famous gurus like Swagata Lakshmi Dasgupta in Rabindra Sangeet, Purnima Chowdhury in Classical and Thumri and Jatileshwar Mukhopadhyay in modern songs.
She has participated in many national programmes in India and performs in Akashbani and Doordarshan programmes in India and received several awards like “Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award” by Times India News & Seemapuri Times and “Shera Ananya” award by Shalimar Group & Sambad Pratidin etc.
He is involved with “Udichi Shilpi Gosti”, a leading cultural group of Bangladesh. He regularly performs in different TV channels of Bangladesh and abroad.
He has released several duet and solo albums like ‘Thikana’, ‘Aguner Kachhe Phuler Angeekar’, ‘Ayk Akasher Tara’.
Dola Bandopadhyay, a member of Cultural Committee, Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, has released several albums like ‘Khola Haoa’ by HMV music in 2009, ‘Raage Anuraage’ by Raag Ranjani in 2010, ‘Gitanjalir Gaan’ by Dynamic World in 2012, ‘Jhumuriya’ by Indian Record Company in 2014. Belayet Hossain of Bangladesh was initially inspired into the cultural arena by renowned Bangladeshi writer Kayes Ahmed. He is involved with many cultural organisations and has performed in many stage programmes at home and abroad.
