Sixteen people including children, women and old were injured in a dog bite in Gafargaon of Mymensingh upazila from noon to evening on Monday. The incident took place at Kacharipara, Kandapara, Madi Para, Maralpara and Natunbazar areas. Injured people are in misery as there is no antidote for rabies in the hospital. According to eyewitness, at least two dogs attacked Babul Mia (35), Kalu (7), Faruk (12), Ilima of Charmachaland Bazar area (12), Charmachaland Kandapara Rifat (3), Mokhlechh (4), Charmachaland Sheikh Russell Nasima Akhter (28) of Ekta Bazar area, Tauhid (8) of Charamchaland Maralpara, Chayem (4), Maryam (2), Munjur (55), Ravi (18), Jharna Begum of Charmachaland Madi Para(45), Charmachaland Kacharipara Razia Begum (60), Tariqul Islam, Momin (28) Is injured.
Meanwhile, the injured patients are suffering due to lack of vaccine in the hospital Being pregnant. The incident has spread panic in the area. Locals at the corner of the road is guarding with a stick.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mainuddin Khan Manik said the injured were treated at the hospital.
