Doctors urged for fre

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim on Saturday urged the doctors across the country to give free treatment on Aug 15 showing their respect to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”If you (doctors) love Bangabandhu and have respect on him then serve(medical treatments) poor people out of cost at least for two hours on the death anniversary on Aug 15 and on the birth anniversary on March 17 of him.”
Requesting the private practitioners and the owners of private clinics, the Minister said, “We have to materialize the dream of Bangabandhu by serving to the people with our work forces.”
The Minister said this on Saturday while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion to mark the National Mourning Day and the 39th Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organized by Bangladesh Private Medical Practitioners Association (BPMPA) at Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) auditorium in the city.
The senior Awami League leader also said “I heard BNP will start movement against the government after Eid but it didn’t mention after which Eid . The movement mentioned by Khaleda Zia after Eid would never come true in Bangladesh”. Pointing at BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, the Minister said, “You have committed a mistake by not taking part in the January 5 polls, now you have to wait till 2019.You have missed the election-train, you have to wait for the return of the train.”
BMA secretary general Dr M Iqbal Arslan, BPMPA secretary general Dr M Jamaluddin Chowdhury, Proctor of BSMMU Professor ASM Zakaria, Vice- President of BPMPA Dr Kamrul Hassan Khan, BPMPA President Professor Dr Moniruzzaman Bhuiyan and Former MP Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin spoke among others with Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Professor Pran Gopal Datta in the chair.
