Allegations of irregularities and luring patients from hospital have been raised against a gynecologist of Feni Sadar Hospital.
It has been stated that the physician, Junior Consultant in rank, in cooperation with her husband doctor started a private clinic at Feni town a few years ago and lured the female patients to get themselves admitted into their clinic for getting better services. Some of the patients accept the advice and treat them by her, which they could do in the
hospital at a very low cost. Some days ago, a patient came to the hospital for consultation. She was at the advanced stage. The gynecologist instead of giving prescription asked the patients to go to her clinic for better services. But she did not do that, rather went to a separate clinic where she delivered a healthy child through caesarian operation.
It is further stated that she has used the influence of the clinic’s proprietor and take away four to five female patients every day. When contacted, the doctor rejected the accusations. However, Residential Medical Officer Dr. Asim Kumar Saha admitted receipt of few allegations now and then. But the Superintendent of the Feni Sadar Hospital was not available for his comment as he was on leave.
