A 61 years old retired doctor named Jahedul Islam had died of COVID in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. He died at the COVID unit of the hospital on Friday.
The information was confirmed by the focal person of Mymensingh Medical’s Coronavirus unit, Mohiuddin Khan Moon, at 12 pm on Saturday. He was a resident of Sadar upazila.
Dr. Mohiuddin Khan Moon said, Dr. Jahidul Islam was admitted to the coronavirus unit of MMCH on January 17. He was taken to the ICU as his condition deteriorated. He died there on Friday night. Relatives said he had received the first dose of corona vaccine.
Dr. Jahedul Islam was the Assistant Director of the Department of Health. Earlier, he was working at Tangail Medical College Hospital. He was a former student of Mymensingh Medical College.
