Docs find problem in Khaleda’s waist bones

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has some problem in the joint of her waist bones, Chief of the Medical Board formed for her treatment said on Tuesday.
Due to aging and other illness, this inconsistency in her waist might have developed, said Prof M S Zaman Shaheen who is leading the government formed four-member medical board.
The members of the Medical Board this morning discussed the test reports it received yesterday from the jail authorities, said Dr Shaheen, also the Head of Orthopedic Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The BNP chief was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Friday for medical tests from the city’s old central jail.
X-rays of her spine, hip joint and pelvis were done at the hospital. Earlier on April 1, after examining her at the jail, the medical board said Khaleda had been suffering from some old and new health problems, but none of those was serious. Khaleda was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment by a Dhaka court in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on February 8.
