Do whatever needed against anarchists: DIG

Asking the police to do whatever needed against those unleashing anarchy and killing people, Dhaka Range DIG Mahfuzul Haque here on Saturday said he will take all responsibilities of their actions.
“Catch red-handed those killing people through subversive activities and destroying public property, and do what is needed to do. I’m giving you the order. I’ll take all the responsibilities,” he said.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police was speaking at a views-exchange meeting at the District Police Lines.
He said policemen have been given arms to protect people’s lives and property. “Will we suck our fingers if anyone kills you?”
Alleging that the anti-liberation forces are trying to wage a civil war in the country and destroy the country’s independence, he said, “We together with people will launch a war against these kulangars (black sheep), munafeq (betrayers) and kafer (atheists). People must be saved from their clutches.”
District Awami League general secretary Advocate Ajmat Ullah Khan and former MP Kazi Mozammel Haque, among others, spoke at the meeting held with Gazipur police super Mohammad Harunur Rashid in the chair.
