The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has conducted eviction drive in Uttara and Baridhara area on Tuesday to remove illegal structures, signboards, banners, festoons and street vendors from the footpaths.
Executive Magistrates Julkar Nayin and Roslina Parvin led the mobile courts from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
Some 100 makeshift shops and structures were
evicted from Sector- 4, 6 and 10 in Uttara and Gulshan Baridhara area.
The team also fined Tk 1,05,000 by three different cases for keeping construction materials on the roads and footpaths business establishments by grabbing footpath and car parkings and chemical warehousing in different areas.
No one will be allowed to do businesses occupying footpaths and roads causing sufferings to the public, said the Magistrates Roslina.
The drive against illegal encroachers will continue, she added.
