Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) evicted some illegal billboards with the help of oxyacetylene burner in the city’s Mohakhali level Crossing area from Thursday night to Friday morning.
Executive Magistrate Mohiuddin Kabir, senior officials and police, were present during the eviction.
Aminul Islam, Chief Estate Officer (CEO) of DNCC, said “Almost 80 percent of illegal billboards have been evicted so far. Remaining billboards will be removed by December 30.”
He said that the DNCC Mayor Annisul Huq ordered to remove illegal
billboards, banners and festoons to keep the city clean.
DNCC has been conducting eviction drives almost at every night to make the city clean and resplendent, he added.
There might be 150/200 more billboards in the DNCC area.
