Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Friday visited a Hajj camp set up in the city’s Askona area.
While visiting the Hajj camp at about 1 pm, the Mayor exchanged views with the Hajj pilgrims and expressed satisfaction over the security measures taken in the camp.
Police has taken tight measures to ensure the security of Hajj pilgrims, said a police officer deployed in the Askona Hajj camp.
“Rover Scout members have also been deployed with us in the Hajj camp,” he said, adding that without Hajj pilgrims, no one is allowed to enter the camp.
This measure has been taken considering the overall security of the pilgrims, the police officer further said.
