Panel mayor Goni says: DNCC extended areas to get civic amenities

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Panel Mayor Md Osman Gani on Tuesday said extended areas of the DNCC would be turned into a modern city in a planned way.
The government has been aware from the very beginning so that the people of those areas, newly formed 18 Wards, can avail all kind of civic facilities, he said.
The extended areas have also divided into five Zones.
The DNCC Panel Mayor was addressing a view exchange meeting with public representatives of the
newly extended areas. Chairman and Members of Union Parishads under those areas gave their opinion about how to develop their respective areas in the meeting.
The meeting was informed that play fields, health centre, Eidgah, children’s park, at least three Garbage Secondary Transfer Stations (STS) three public toilets, and WASA pump and Sub-station of electricity will be set up in each of the 18 newly formed Wards.
Besides, one zonal office, at least one community centre, one Urban Primary Health Care Centre, one central STS, one children park, one graveyard, one crematory, at least one market and one cultural centrte will be set up in each zone of the extended areas, the meeting was told.
Among others, member of the DNCC Panel Mayor Jamal Mostafa, councilors of different Wards, Chief Executive Officer Md Mejbahul Islam were also present in the meeting.
