Dhaka North City Corporation on Thursday evicted 200 illegal installations from Mirpur, Chhoto Diabari, nearby embankment, Majar Road and adjacent areas.
DNCC Executive Magistrate Md. Sajeed Anwar led the drive from 10am to 2:30pm.
DNCC officials said that they evicted makeshift buildings, tin shed shops, boundary walls and other installations from the areas.
“We have recovered 25,000 square feet areas from the illegal grabbers,” said the official.
The grabbers removed many of their installations and goods before the eviction drive as per the notice of DNCC.
The DNCC mobile court realiseed Tk 60,000 as fine from three bamboo traders who loaded those in the street and created sufferings for the people.
DNCC officials said, the eviction drive against the illegal grabbers and the actions of mobile court will continue to free government lands for the people.
