Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) conducted a drive to evict illegal structures from the footpaths and streets of the capital’s Mohammadpur on Wednesday.
The drive started around 11:00 am on Salimullah Road under Mohammadpur.
It was conducted by Dhaka North City Corporation’s Zone-5 Executive Officers led by Executive Magistrate Masud Hossain.
The Magistrate told media that they were
conducting the operation as the locals complained to the mayor. Notices were served to house owners twice by the engineering branch of the city corporation to remove the structures.
Issuing a strong warning to illegal occupants, DNCC mayor said the mobile courts and auction programme will be continued in every zone of the city corporation.
