Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has bought 22 modern machinery for quick and effective mosquito elimination.
20 Mist Blower and Power Spray machines and two Vehicle Mounted Fogger machines have already been bought, said a press release issued by DNCC on Wednesday.
DNCC Public Relation Officer (PRO) ASM Mamun said, “As per suggestions of Entomologists, we purchased these machines. Three more fogging machines will be bought soon.”
“The Vehicle Mounted Fogging machines bought from Germany, will also be used to kill adult virus bearing mosquitoes.”
The fogger machines are capable of destroying in many areas in a short period of time, the release added.
DNCC will bring 10 areas under its jurisdiction with two mist blowers each in order to destroy the eggs and larvae of malaria, as well as other diseases carrying mosquitoes.
Earlier on November 21, DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam launched the mist blower machines.
According to the release, DNCC have been using the fogging machines since November this year.
