DMP’s 45th founding anniv celebrated

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Saturday have celebrated its 45th founding anniversary amid various colourful festivities.
The programmes included a colourful procession from DMP headquarters to Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital around 3:00pm and a civic reception held at Rajarbagh Police Lines at 4:00pm.
A cultural programme was organized with the presence of eminent actors-actresses and vocalists at 7:00pm. Private TV channel ATN Bangla telecast the programme live.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan attended the function as the chief guest, while Public Security Division Senior Secretary Mostafa Kamal Uddin and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary were present as special guests.
Speakers said in the event, DMP is the largest portion of Bangladesh Police. They have been working tirelessly to become the friends of people. We are still trying to win the heart of the city dwellers. Our each member will continue their efforts to reach the goal, police officials also said.
On the eve of the day, President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages by greeting all members of DMP.
It is mentionable that Dhaka Metropolitan Police was founded on 1 February 1976. “Santi Swapathe Boliyan” with this slogan DMP have been working for the nation since the founding year 1976.
