Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a year-long anti crime drive recovered 284 illegal firearms, 2090 rounds of bullet in the capital last year.
The city police also recovered 1746 crude bombs, 2586 chocolate bombs, 72,126 other types of bombs during the period between January 1 and December 31 in 2016, sources said.
They have arrested 520 miscreants and filed 249 cases in connection with separate arms recovery incidents during the drive, they said.
Besides, 582 cases were also filed with different police stations in the capital in connection with stealing vehicles, according to them.
Police also recovered 1166 stolen vehicles, including 312 private cars, 20 buses, 68 microbuses, 50 jeeps or pickups, 54 trucks or covered vans and 443 motorcycles in separate drives conducted during the same period .
