DMP fines Tk 1.26 lakh for violating health rules

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has realised over Tk 1.26 as fines from 17 individuals and 21 shops in the capital for violating hygiene rules.
Mobile courts under the DMP carried out drives across the capital and fined various individuals and organisations on Wednesday for not following proper health rules imposed by the government to prevent the transmission of coronavirus (Covid-19), said a press release here.
The mobile courts conducted drives in different areas under Ramna, Kalabagan, Rampura and Demra police stations.
During the mobile court operation, six individuals were fined a total of Tk 39,000 in Ramna police station areas and a total of Tk 1,100 was imposed on six shops in Kalabagan police station areas, said the press release.
A total of Tk 3,200 was fined from five shops in Rampura police station areas while 11 people were fined Tk 1,900 and five shops were fined Tk 11,000 in different areas under Demra police station.
A total of Tk 70,000 were fined from 5 shops from different areas under Gulshan police station, added the release.
