Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Tuesday filed 6,909 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rules violation.
It also realized 37.15 lakh as fine for traffic rules violation, said an official release.
Of the total cases, 1,290 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 218 for using hydraulic horn, 11 for using hotter and beckon light and 23 others for using tinted glass.
Police filed 2,768 cases against motorcycles and seized 139 others for violation of the traffic rules.
Traffic police has dumped 38 vehicles and wrecked 889 others.
