The traffic division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total 4,106 cases for traffic rules violations in the capital on Tuesday.
“Police realized Taka 22, 28,500 as fine from the traffic offenders. Police also sent nine vehicles to dumping and 1,845 more to wrecking,” a DMP press release said.
The DMP sources further said cases were filed against 590 vehicles for going into wrong way, 33 vehicles for using hydraulic horns, five for using hooters and beacon lights and 11 vehicles were booked for using black glasses on windows.
“Cases were also filed against 2,317 motorcycles for violating traffic rules and 1339 more were seized. 12 drivers were also booked for talking on mobile phones while driving,” the press release added.
