Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Monday filed 3,499 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation. It also realized over Taka 28.44 lakh as fine for traffic rule violation, said an official press release.
Of the total, 289 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 63 for using hydraulic horn, six for using hotter and beckon light and 15 others for using tinted glass.
Police filed 1,086 cases against motorcycles and seized 79 others for violation of the traffic rules.
Traffic police has dumped 12 vehicles and wrecked 819 others.
