Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Monday filed 3379 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation. It also realized Taka 28.21 lakh as fine for various traffic rule breach, said an official release of DMP Of the total cases, 247 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 40 for using hydraulic horn, three for using hotter and beckon light and eight others for using tinted glass.
Police filed 1269 cases against motorcycles and seized 55 others. Some 33 cases, including 20 video cases, were registered against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.
