Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 38 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the ongoing anti-narcotics drive in the capital in the last 24 hours till 6am Saturday.
The Detective Branch (DB) of the DMP in association with local police stations carried out the simultaneous drive starting at 6 am on Friday.
A total of 2332 Yaba tablets, 900 packets containing around 229.5 grams heroin, 2.27 kg hemp, and 70 ampoules of sedative injections were recovered the arrestees’ possession, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
A total of 28 cases were filed with different police stations under the Narcotics Control Act over the arrest and drug recovery, he said.
