As part of the anti-drug campaign in the capital city, members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested a total of 69 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the ongoing anti-drug drives in the capital during last 24 hours till 6am on Friday.
According to a statement issued by DMP, police conducted various operations against drug selling and consuming in different areas under various police stations and detained 69 drug traffickers and recovered drugs from their possession from 6am of March 10 to 6 am on Friday, reports BSS.
During the anti-drug drive, police seized 50 grams and 305 purias (small packet) of heroin, 10.890 kilograms and 25 purias (small packet) of cannabis (ganja), 8,440 pieces of yaba tablets, 10 drug injections, 298 bottles of phensidyle, 21 litre local made liquor and 16 can beer from them, it said.
Police filed 46 cases in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
