The members of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in several anti-drug raids arrested a total of 63 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the last 24 hours till 6am on Friday.
The Detective Brunch (DB) of the DMP in association with local police stations carried out the simultaneous drives at different parts of the metropolis starting at 6am on Thursday.
A total of 14,192 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 959 grams and 570 puria (small packet) of heroin, 27.225 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) and 120 bottles of phensedyl were recovered from the arrested persons’ possession, according to a DMP press release.
A total of 45 cases were filed with different police stations under the Narcotics Control Act in these regards.
