Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 48 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-narcotics drives in the capital in the last 24 hours till 6am on Monday.
The Detective Branch (DB) of the DMP in association with local police stations carried out the simultaneous drive starting at 6am on Sunday.
A total of 1,141 piece yaba tables, 700 kg hemp, 23 grams heroin and 130 bottles of phensedyl were also recovered from their possession.
A total of 36 cases were filed with different police stations under the narcotics Control Act over the arrest and drug recovery.
