Members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 47 people in the capital on charges of selling and consuming drugs during different anti-narcotics drives in the last 24 hours till 6am on Tuesday.
The Detective Branch (DB) of the DMP in association with local police stations carried out the simultaneous drives starting at 6am on Monday.
A total of 4,689 pieces of yaba tablets, 10 grams of heroin, 2.177 kgs of cannabis, 134 bottles of Phensedyl and eight canes of beer were recovered from the arrested person’s possession, said a DMP press release.
A total of 30 cases were filed with different police stations under the Narcotics Control Act over the arrest and drug recovery.
