DMCH medical team visits Diaz’s residence

A medical team of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), which conducted the second autopsy of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Diaz Irfan Chowdhury, visited his house in the city to correct information on Sunday morning.
The eight-member medical team, led by Sohel Mahmud, head of the forensic department of the DMCH, reached Diaz’s house at Chittagong University Gate-2 around 10.45 am and collected relevant information, Sohel Mahmud told reporters emerging from the house around 1 pm.
He also said they captured photos of the crime scene and collected samples from the room from where police recovered Diaz’s hanging body.
Later, the doctors talked to the family members of Diaz.
Responding to a question, Sohel said it is not clear yet whether it was a murder or suicide incident. They will examine the information collected today and prepare a report on the second autopsy.
On November 20, the body of Diaz, former joint secretary of BCL central committee, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his bedroom at his family’s rented house in the CU Gate-2 area.
