Diya Siddique of Bangladesh lost to Dziominskaya Karyna of Belarus in the women’s individual recurve event (Elimination Round) of Archery Competition of Tokyo Olympics in Tokyo on Thursday.
Karyna edged past Diya by 6-5 points.
Diya made a good start beating Karyna 23-22. Then Diya lost to Karyna 26-25. Diya settled for a 25-25 draw with Karyna. She lost to Karyna 27-25. Then she defeated Karyna 27-25. Later, Diya lost to Karyna 10-9 and out of the competition. Diya Siddique finished 33rd in her event.
Earlier, country’s best archer Ruman Shana became 17th in the men’s individual recurve event. Ruman-Diya duo became 9th in the mixed team event of the Archery Competition of Tokyo Olympics. Bangladesh Archery team will return home on August 1.
