Divisional Commissioner and Additional Secretary of Sylhet Dr. Muhammad Mosharraf Hossain visited the factory of Alim Industries Limited on Thursday morning. At this time, the chairman of Alim Industries Limited, Alimuch Chadat Chowdhury (AIP) was present and toured various units of R&D and production including CNC laser cutter and plasma cutter machine.
During the visit, Engineer Syed Manzoor Rashed, head of the production department of the company, informed the divisional commissioner about the introduction and activities of the company. The company’s sales and marketing manager Shafiqul Islam Zia, commercial manager M. Shahidul Islam and Faiyaz Alim Chowdhury were also present at this time.
Dr. Muhammad Mosharraf Hossain sincerely thanked the directors and officers of this institution who received the Bangabandhu National Agricultural Award and the Bangabandh Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Award for their participation and important contribution in the agricultural mechanization program undertaken by the government. At this time, he promised that he would try to resolve the long-standing problems in obtaining customs concessional facilities in the import of raw materials and parts of agricultural machinery. Apart from this, he said that he will discuss with the appropriate authorities so that the farmers can get loans under the existing agricultural loan scheme of the banks in this sector as the farmers are not able to pay the remaining amount for the purchase of agricultural machinery despite the government subsidy.
