Campus Report :To share experience, promote and facilitate exchange of youth especially students regionally, Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) has recently signed MoU with University of Dhaka (DU) and Daffodil International University (DIU) in Bangladesh and Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Youth Development (RGNIYD) in India. Under this agreement a group of students from both Universities; University of Dhaka (DU) and Daffodil International University (DIU) went for a week long training to RGNIYD, Chennai, India to attend the programme from 30th September to October 05, 2014. A program to this connection in Dhaka to share the experience of India visit was arranged recently. Dr. Cecep Effendi, Director General, CIRDAP was present in the program as the chief guest while Prof Dr SM Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Acting Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University and Prof Nasreen Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic), University of Dhaka were present as special guests. The program was also addressed by Dr Vasanthi Rajendran Director a.i, Training Division, CIRDAP, Prof Dr Mahbuba Nasreen, Professor and Director, Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies, University of Dhaka and Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director, Students’ Affairs, Daffodil International University, Dhaka.This was informed that As part of the MoU invited by Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Youth Development (RGNIYD) in India, 10 students on “Youth Leadership Development” from Daffodil International University and 16 students on “Disaster Management” from Dhaka University went to there and successful completed a week long training from September 30 to October 05, 2014. Beside these, they also visited some developed villages, some local places and cities of historical interests at Chennai. CIRDAP is coordinating the Student and Youth Exchange Programme among CIRDAP Member Courtiers for students of DU and DIU. CIRDAP has done other programmes with University of Dhaka and Daffodil International University like placement of interns for capacity building of young students to be exposed in regional organization. Participating students of Daffodil International University and Dhaka University shared their experience, learning new things which may lead them to think new way, considering the country and regional context. Later Chief Guest distributed certificates among the participants.
