‘Green Shade’- the first ever business initiative based on roof top gardening of the students of Entrepreneurship Department of Daffodil International University (DIU) has started its journey officially financed by Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd. The launching ceremony of Green Shade was held through cutting ribbon and cake on 01 November 2017 at Banquet Hall of the university.
Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU inaugurated the ceremony as chief guest. Monowar Kamal, Managing Director, Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd. (BVCL) handed over a check of Tk. 5 Lac to the three initiators of Green Shade in the program Golam. Iqbal Hossain Shemul, Maidul Islam and Abdullah Al Mahadi all three are the students of Entrepreneurship Department of DIU initiated this business project.
A MOU was also signed at the program. Prof Dr Farid A Sobhani, Dean, HRDI, Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Students Affairs), Mohammad Shibli Shahriar, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Entrepreneurship and Md. Rashedul Islam, Coordinator, BVCL were also present at the program. While addressing Md. Sabur Khan said that the objective of the department of Entrepreneurship is not only provide a graduation certificate to a student, but also made him a successful entrepreneur. Green Shade is an example of this endeavor, he added. He hoped that the students of this department would provide employment and create jobs for thousands of people.
Golam Monowar Kamal said, some of entrepreneurs fail to start their business for lack of financial support, but BVCL will always stand behind the entrepreneurs of Entrepreneurship department of Daffodil International University with economic investment.
Financing in Green Shade is opening initiative for the students of Entrepreneurship Department of Daffodil International University and BVCL will always continue this support in coming days.
