Nafija Rahman Mou and Shuvo Ghosh – two DIU students left for India on Tuesday to attend 9th South Asian Universities Youth Festival (SAUFEST-2016) scheduled from February 25-29, 2016 at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University at Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh in India. A 29 members delegate from Bangladesh lead by Dr Md. Fokhrul Islam, Additional Director (ICC) of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) is participating at SAUFEST.
The concept of organizing the SAUFEST is in line with the active collaboration and mutual assistance amongst the South Asian Countries in educational, social, cultural and economic fields. The participating countries include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Maldives, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Afghanistan.
25 participants including two officials, from each South Asian Country will be invited to participate in the cultural and literary events of Light Vocal, Folk Orchestra, Classical & Folk Dance, Mime, Debate, Elocution, Poster Making and Clay Modeling.
